The fishery is on the Lower Stretch of the River Teme at Powick.
The Teme is a beautiful and intimate river-stuffed with large barbel
and chub. The Teme is one of the most prolific barbel rivers in
the country and the Cottage being only half a mile from the confluence
with the Severn has an artifically high population in the summer
and autumn. This is because a lot of Severn fish migrate up to spawn
and then spend the warmer months in the gravel shallows under the
abundent overhanging cover. After the floods of late autumn, a lot
of fish drop back into the Severn where the flow is more sedate
and to their liking.
