Barbel and chub fishing at Temeside Cottage on the beautiful River Teme at Powick

I have been fishing for barbel for the last 25 years and caught my first barbel from the Warwickshire Avon. I am a member of the Barbel Catchers Club and several other local clubs. I consider myself an experienced angler and have averaged nearly 20 doubles a year for the last few years, mainly from the Teme, Severn and Warwickshire Avon.

I particularly like winter flood fishing but I am happy fishing into the night on a warm summers evening. A favourite method is using large lumps of meat combined with a bobbin or touch ledgering, with of course a centrepin! If guest anglers want to see how I fish this method, I would be happy to oblige. My aim would be to give guest anglers the benefit of my knowledge and skills to catch some good fish and have an enjoyable experience.

I am quite amenable to being dragged to the local for a pint or two putting the world to rights.

Lastly, I am married to Jan (who is a competent angler) and she understands anglers and a ‘muddy boot’ isn’t going to upset her! She too would endevour to ensure your stay would be a good one.
